Get away!!

Many have that one place they can go to for some time to think and escape. By the end of the week I will have my slight get away to my second home, my blue heaven, Dodger Stadium. No matter how many times I have been there it never gets old. My problems I have just seem to fade away as I am there with my friends, my dad and my Boys in Blue. For those few hours everything outside the stadium does not exist and I really need that right now.

After this week spring break, which will be spent on catching up on reading and my group project (maybe I can get away once I done school work for a couple of days).

Once I get back to school there will be SIX weeks left of school, including finals. FIVE weeks of the paper left YES! and SEVEN until graduation day MAY 24.

What am I going to do after that is a good question... I'll be back later bye for now.

Big West tourney, last CSUN games and thanks too...

What an experience I have as a student journalist, I was able to attend the Big West Tournament with CSUN seeding third in the conference. March Madness, wow its crazy, three days in Anaheim at the Honda Center for basketball photographing CSUN games and the championship game.

First game to shoot was CSUN vs Cal State Fullerton for the third time this season the teams met again, this time in the quarterfinlas. Well, the Matdors came out playing and won 75-54. It was a late night with the game starting at 8:30 p.m., but I had fun. Lenny Daniel had 19 points and nine rebounds.

Second day of action I showed up early to take some photos of the Long Beach State vs. UC Riverside and well the 49ers came out of that one with no contest. Then the No.3 Matadors vs. No. 5 Gauchos in a 9 p.m. game, so exhausted from the night before and school, but I was there and the Gauchos just had more experience to give them a 83-63 win over the Matadors. Again late night in the media room with my Krew, but it was well worth it and getting last interviews from the players and  coach Bobby Braswell.

Saturday came along and even though I didn't have to go to the championship against Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara I felt I had to go and see a game like that and sure enough it was well worth making the trip to Anaheim for a third time.

Walking through Honda Center was cool, even though I don't like the DUCKS YUCK!!!!

Okay well my trip to Cal Poly was fun even though CSUN got blown out by the Mustangs. My poor friend was sick, but still made the trip to recap the game. The way back was full of sports talks and basketball scenarios.

Got to admit it was a good season for the Matadors, who were polled to finish eighth in the conference, to being No.3 with eight freshmen on the team.
During the season I made some new friends, Cassy, who is awesome with all the work she does filming highlights of the games, Bobby V. (media relations for CSUN) who is hilarious and cool to talk to when I need someone, some of the players, who even though I had to run some bad stories and photos about them always respected my job and still wanted to be friends with me after LOL and of course my Krew, Vic and Gilbert.
special thanks for Gilberto Manzano for allowing me to photograph the team when they were on the road. I definitely took my photography to another level.

Clippers in Championship! Yosemite Clippers

Hello again, I have been SUPER busy with school, but I thought I take the time to check in and write something.

I recently went to Yosemite minor league basketball game (9-10 years old) to watch the Clippers, who finished second, play its first playoff game against the Spurs.

The Spurs had beating the Clippers twice already and the Clipper players were actually worried, a parent was telling me that the team felt they had no chance and that the Spurs were going to win.

Well, turns out it didn't happen that way at all, the Clippers won 39-21. The first half the Clippers were on a roll and the Spurs just couldn't get its offense starting. The Spurs came as close as seven points, but never took the lead.

The Clippers did a great job on the defensive end the team will now face the Magic in the championship game tomorrow, which I am sad I have to miss because of school and covering water polo.

I will post a photo of the game later tonight. =)
