Clippers lose, but its only the first game

Of course, I'm not talking about the Clippers you all know. I am speaking of the youth basketball league, which started its season yesterday. The parents are ready with cameras and video recorders, while the kids are excited or nervous about playing the game.

Inez started her first season as a minor, wow where has the time gone? why can't she be a mighty mite again?
Well she is a Clipper for the second time and she is the teams motivator. Like professional sports has their player that pumps up the team, Inez is that player. She stands in the middle of her teams circle before the game and calls out three times "How do we play" and the teams follows by each one saying "tough" "smart" "hard" then all of them shout "Clippers"

The Clippers had some butterflies and trailed as much as 17 points, but as in the second half, the Clippers started playing defense and made a comeback. They had a good run, but lost by 11 points. Coach told them after the game they played well and just needed to start playing harder defense in the beginning of game. All-in-all it was a good game and its only the first game.

Bye Bye 2010

okay I am a little late, but Happy New Year!!

Wow 2010, what can I say it was a great year and the good times definitely weighed out the bad.

DAILY SUNDIAL: I started my second semester at CSUN as a staff writer and took on a sport I knew nothing about (water polo). I worked my a** off for the paper, which I believe helped my editor trust in me. I met many people on the paper and I'm grateful for some of the friendships I made. I received the opportunity to cover a beat, which made the championship game and was included in covering the men's volleyball team championship game in Stanford, CA.

INTERNSHIP: Not only was I on the paper, working, and taking a full time schedule at CSUN, I also had an internship with Fox Sports West. It was an awesome experience for me and I met some great mentors there.

SUMMER: Tuesday nights were the best!!! the spot I was at, with three amazing women made the summer memorable. Sports: Laker, CHAMPIONS BABY!, The Dodgers hurt me in not making the playoffs, but I was always happy to see my Dodger family. I had some crazy nights, but all worth it =)

BACK TO SCHOOL: This is what just ended three weeks ago. WOW no social life lol. I was assistant sports editor and finally the sports section was cut some slack, because we made deadline quit a few times. I didn't write as much as I would have liked to, but that's my fault. I took an awesome PR class, which helped me in many ways. Also, I started to take more photos, which I love to do. I traveled back to North Cal and went to Pauley Pavilion for the first time. I had my ups and downs this semester, but I had great friends, who were always there for me no matter what! THANK YOU!!! =)

NOW: My work has not been done. I am now sports editor and this winter break I am still covering the CSUN men's basketball team by taking photos. The last two weeks of 2010 was work, work ,work.
Holidays were relaxing and new years eve and coming into this year was GREAT!!! ;)

Stress!?!

Hi guys,
Been busy, but doing what I love and that is taking photos for
sports games. I am getting better at it too, so my portfolio is growing.

Well, stress, this is something I tend to do a lot and I feel it is piling up more. My only escape is sports. Going to a professional or college event, lets me concentrate on the game and not focus on what the outside world wants from me. And for those three hours it feels great.

Sport editor time: I am trying to organize everything and I think I've done a great job at it, but the
Sundial is taking a lot of my time, which I should be focusing on my winter class. Also I have been trying to apply for grad school and I'm taking a back burner on it, which I shouldn't because deadlines are coming this month eek.

I am taking deep breaths and trying to focus on just my job and not others. I really need to get what I need done. Zumba class, gym and walks are back in my routine, which is helping me limit my stress!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! =)
